How does The Homechoice scheme work?
Seven local authorities have announced job vacancies in rental social housing using the same system in the Homechoice portal program, which operates as follows:
- Vacant social housing in seven local authority work areas is announced on the Homechoice portal every week. ·
- Registration applicants can list up to two attributes of interest online or over the phone.
- All job vacancies advertised through the program are owned by the city council or housing association.
- All local authorities adopt the same distribution policy. ·
Eligibility And Local Contact
People are registered in Los Angeles where they live (or want to live if they come from outside the district of the plan). Compared with people with the same housing problems in the area, applicants who have no local ties to Los Angeles will be “downgraded” by the gang. In the following cases, the applicant will be deemed to have a local connection with the street:
- Your single-family or main house is located in one of the participating areas; or
- They are placed in specialized houses off the street, but have lived here before; or
- You have a long-term paid job in this sub-region; or
- You have a son, daughter, brother, sister, mother or father who lives here and has lived here for at least 5 years.
Shortlist
The principle of the system is that the property is usually rented out to families who want the property and have been waiting for the longest in a higher range. The properties provided on the Homechoice portal will be advertised for a week, starting on Thursday morning and closing at midnight on the next Wednesday. When people submit housing offers, the system automatically collects a shortlist of applicants. Applicants are ranked from A to E. If 2 or more applicants have the same range, the system usually puts the applicant with the longest history first.

- The date on which the scope and priority of the application are placed. Click Prioritize applications for more information.
- If there is any change in your situation, you must update your application online so that we can re-evaluate your application and change your domain and priority date if necessary.
Property size
- You will only qualify for a property that fits the size of your family. This table tells you how you usually determine how many rooms you have available;
- Due to the lack of large houses, large three-bedroom houses are sometimes offered to eligible four-bedroom house applicants.
- It is generally not expected that children share a room with the opposite sex, and at least one of them is over 10 years old.
- Every family member over the age of 18 needs a separate room (excluding same-sex couples and siblings)
Meet the qualifications for certain vacancies.
- Priority will be given to families with at least one dependent child under the age of 16.
- Apartment on the first floor
- Applicants who give priority to such property for medical reasons will receive priority on the first floor unless there is a suitable applicant with medical priority.
- Applicants for protected housing must generally be 65 years of age or older. Before providing protective housing to the applicant, an assessment will also be conducted to determine whether the applicant is eligible for protective housing and may benefit from the available support.
Step 2-selection
Real estate is announced every week (the week starts on Friday) to find real estate.
The advertisement will inform you about the owner, location, size, rent, and other characteristics of the property to help you determine which property is right for you.
If available, provide pictures of houses or similar types of houses so you can access information about the area and local facilities.
The announcement also informs you whether the applicant has any special requirements, such as age requirements and property priority. If you are not within the specified range, you can still apply for the property as long as it is suitable for your family.
Various symbols are used to inform you of the property.

Show your interest in the property
To apply for a property, you must tell us that you want to consider it through bidding. You can only ask for property commensurate with the size of your family. In some cases, you may be asked to provide a property that is smaller than what you should own, as long as it does not cause overcrowding.
You can log in to search for your property to express your interest or make an offer. During the announced time (from 00:00 on Friday to 11:59 on the next Wednesday), you can bid on up to 3 properties. Discounts will not be accepted after midnight on Wednesday.
Step 3-Demo
Priority will be given to all bids received to generate a list of qualified applicants for each advertising property.
If your name is at the top of the list (that is, you are at the top of the domain name and have waited longer), you will usually be invited to view the property, unless there is some reason that prevents us from doing so, such as your rent arrears or city reasons Take legal action against you for violating rent terms. You will need to provide documents and information so that we can verify your application.
If we cannot show the property to the applicant at the top of the list, we will move to the next applicant, and so on.
Also, if you decide to decline the drug, it will be shown to the next person on the priority list. If you refuse two stays, the priority dates will be reduced.
However, if you are provided with a property, you will not be included in the list of other properties until you decide to accept or reject the proposal.
If you accept the property, you will be told when to transfer to it. You will also be arranged to introduce the property and sign a lease contract. Generally, you will receive the keys at your property on the Friday before the start of the lease.
If one of your housing association partners offers you a property, they will contact you directly to discuss bidding arrangements.
Step 4-comments
We publish information about successful rental housing. We will tell you the number of applicants bidding for the property, their grade, and the priority date of the applicant selected for “Property Search-Recent”. You can click here.
This information will give you a better understanding of the popularity of an attribute or area and how long you should usually wait. Then, you can decide whether to search for another type of property or area that does not need to wait that long.
Unfortunately, due to the large number of people involved, I cannot provide you with a personal comment.

I rented a city council or housing association and want to move. Which group will I join?
Lessors living in councils or housing associations are evaluated in the same way as other tenants. Your current living conditions will be assessed, and you will be given a scale that reflects the urgency of your actions. For example, if your house is overcrowded or you absolutely need to move in, it will get a higher overall rating. However, if your current housing is suitable for your needs, there will be less scope allocated to you, and it may be faster to find another council or housing association tenant who exchanges housing with the Housing Authority. This is called a peer-to-peer exchange.
How often are real estate advertisements published?
Properties available for rent are announced every Thursday and every Monday until midnight on Wednesday. You can bid on real estate at any time during the bidding cycle; there is no advantage to bidding at the beginning of the meeting.

Yes, You can bid on up to 2 attributes per week.
Why does the system not allow me to bid for certain properties?
You can only bid on properties that qualify; the size of your qualifying property will be in your email/registration letter and the size when you log into your account. For example, if the property you are trying to apply for exceeds your entitlement, the system will not allow you to do so.
How do I know if the property is worth bidding?
When you choose a property to bid on, the website will inform you of your current position in the property. Your position on the candidate list may change throughout the drug’s bidding cycle. For instance, if you see that you are ranked 100th on the real estate shortlist, then you know that the real estate has almost no opportunity to display and you may want to choose another real estate.
After each leasing cycle, we will display information about the most recently leased real estate and show the actual range and date of successful applicants for each real estate.
My show keeps failing. Can I continue bidding?
The lower the home band, the longer the stay, if you are in the E band, you are less likely to lead you into the door. If you belong to the lower-middle class, you may want to consider other housing options, such as private rental housing or low-cost homeownership.
